Edible fondant glue is like a magical potion. When it comes to heavy fondant decorations, bulky gumpaste figures, and delicate sugar flowers, edible sugar glue works like magic. Water just doesn’t have the strength to hold things together like it does.
How to make edible fondant glue.
It’s super easy and cheap to make and you can whip it up at home in no time. There are actually 2 ways to make edible glue.
Way #1
The first way to make fondant glue. is to dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of tylose powder into 1/4 cup of water. Tylose powder is a powder that is used to make sugar paste. When added to fondant, it causes it to dry rock hard. This is good for making fondant figurines. (Learn more about gumpaste here.)
Way #2
If you don’t have tylose powder on hand, you can take a small ball of gumpaste and dissolve it into a 1/4 cup of water. Mix your mixture well until the tylose powder or gumpaste is completely dissolved. If you have a any lumps, let it sit for a couple of minutes and the mixture will thicken up to a glue like consistency.
How to attach fondant decorations to a buttercream cake.
Attaching fondant decorations to a buttercream cake is no different than attaching fondant decorations to a fondant covered cake.
After making the edible fondant glue, gently cover the fondant with glue on the back of your fondant decoration, and gently press and rub the fondant on the side of your cake until it sticks.

How do I store Edible Sugar Glue?
Your sugar glue can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three months. When your ready to use it, take it out and give it a little stir. If it has thickened up too much you can add a tiny amount of water.
